At Salon Shique we have three straightening and smoothing methods to cater for all hair types and conditions.

TrichoVEDIC HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment is the perfect option for you! HydroSpa straightenings, smoothes, eradicates unsightly frizz and maximises shine. While nourishing and boosting condition, your hair is always left feeling soft and smooth with stunning results.

Shiseido Professional Crystallizing Straight Smoothing and Retexturising System permanently straightens hair while preserving natural health. At Salon Shique, because we value the health and wellness of your hair, we will not perform this service on bleached or bleach highlighted hair.

Permanent hair straightening is often referred to as Ionic, Thermal Straightening/Reconditioning, Japanese Straightening, Bio Ionic, Yuko straightening and Straight Perm. All are basically using the same process to permanently straighten your hair.

Your hair will look healthier, shinier, sleek and will be easier to manage. Your regrowth will be your natural hair texture.

Relaxers soften your curl, they do not completely straighten your hair. Results will vary on how curly or wavy your natural hair is but you can expect healthy, bouncy, manageable, silky, soft and natural hair.

At Salon Shique we will not perform Hair Relaxing on bleached or bleach highlighted hair.

Selecting the perfect straightening service is dependant on your hair type and condition; your lifestyle and the results you wish to achieve.

The price for the HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment, Shiseido Professional Straightening (also known as Japanese Straightening, Ionic, Thermal Straightening) and Relaxing depends on the amount of hair you have. Please use the below as a guideline, remembering to take into account your height (shoulder length for a petite girl is much less than shoulder length for a tall girl) and the thickness of your hair. Making your appointment for your straightening/smoothing service at Salon Shique is simple, just follow the below steps;

Call the salon on 03 9866 8088 and speak to one of our specialists, when ever possible we would prefer a consultation where we can discuss the best solution for you and give you a written quote. Your consultation will take approximately 10 minutes and costs $10, which is donated in full to Ngurah and his family living in need in Bali.
If you are unable to make it into the salon for a consultation we can arrange a phone/email consultation, simply email photos of the top, back and side of your hair (in its natural state) to transform@shique.com.au and call the salon on 03 9866 8088. Please remember that until we see your hair in person we can only provide a price estimate.
When you book your straightening appointment you will be required to pay a 50% deposit via cash, EFTPOS, credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX), PayPal or funds transfer. The balance will be paid on your appointment day.
On your appointment day your Straightening Specialist will explain the entire process with you and give you an education booklet on the Care, Maintenance and Helpful Hints on how to keep your hair in its optimum condition. If you have a tight schedule please let us know when booking your appointment, we can arrange two straightening specialists to speed up your service.

Those looking for a permanent solution to; Curly/wavy hair that you don't like; Unruly, coarse or unmanageable hair or Frizzy hair or hair that does not hold its style in wet or humid conditions will benefit from Shiseido Professional Crystalising Straightening. It gives you shiny, smooth, straight, silky hair that will require little or no blow drying! The internal structure of your hair will be permanently altered; only the new growth will be your natural texture. Once treated, you will only need to re-visit the salon for re growth touch ups approximately every 3 - 4 months.

You will find that after the treatment your hair will no longer suffer at the hands of the elements, rain, humidity and steam will not affect your sleek and frizz free locks!

Remember, you can not reverse the Shiseido straightening service, if you want your curls back you will have to wait for them to grow back or style with curls!

If you are heading overseas or on a beach vacation please arrange the treatment four to seven days prior (remember you will not be able to wash or wet your hair for 4 - 7 days and will need to keep it straight).

Relaxers soften your hair to the point where it can be restructured into a straighter form. Relaxers may not completely straighten your hair; they soften or relax natural curls or waves to give a straightened look. Results will vary depending on how curly or wavy your natural hair is but you can expect healthy, bouncy, manageable, silky, soft and natural hair.

You will only need to touch up your re-growth to keep your straightened look approximately every 4 -6 months or alternatively, to return to your natural texture you will wait until it grows out or style with curls. Like the Ionic Hair Straightening, Relaxers are permanent and can not be reversed. If you are heading overseas or on a beach vacation please arrange the treatment four to seven days prior (remember you will not be able to wash or wet your hair for 4 - 7 days and will need to keep it straight).

Shiseido Straightening and Relaxing are permanent services, only your regrowth will require a touch up approximately ever 3 - 4 months to keep your straight look. The HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment will gradually wear out over approximately 3 - 5 months provided you follow our Care & Maintenance Guidelines.

You can wash your hair after a minimum of four (preferably seven) days after your Permanent Straightening (Shiseido, Ionic, Japanese) or Relaxing.

After the HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment you can wash your hair instantly.

To ensure the effectiveness of your permanent straightening or relaxing service it is important to keep your hair completely dry and straight for the first four to seven days. If you do get your hair wet, dry immediately. Once dry, straighten with your irons.

Yes. On your appointment day your specialist will recommend the compulsory products to keep your hair looking and feeling great!
